Indian morchang is a traditional musical instrument of India. It is a type of jaw harp that is played by holding the metal frame of the instrument between the teeth and using the fingers to pluck the tongue of the instrument. The morchang is often made of iron or brass, and is commonly used in North Indian folk music, as well as in Sufi and Qawwali music. The morchang produces a unique and twangy sound that is distinctive to Indian music, and is frequently used to accompany traditional dances and vocal performances. Today, the morchang is widely popular all over India and is played by musicians in both classical and contemporary music genres.
